Jo Haslam
Jo Haslam studied Fine Art in Leicester and Manchester. She began writing poetry while bringing up her three children and working in community arts, in libraries and as a bibliotherapist in West Yorkshire where she and her partner still live. Her poems have appeared in magazines including The Rialto, Ambit, Stand and PN Review and have been placed in the National, Mslexia and Charles Causley poetry competitions.
She has published four previous poetry collections, initially with Smith/Doorstop and subsequently with Templar Press after winning their Straid Collection Award in 2012. When auntie was a crow is her fifth.
